Latest Makes
I haven't been keeping the blog up to date, too busy sewing so here are a few things I have been making recently.
The first is a peasant dress in a funky mermaid fabric I have made for the UK Handmade Showcase at the end of August. I love this fabric
The next is a skirt I made in some new fabric. Love this print, I think it will look cute in a little dress too.
And finally the same fabric but made up into a little make-up bags. These bags (contents not included!) are only £5 including postage and will make great Christmas gifts and can be made in any of my in stock fabrics.

New Website and Competition
Very excited to announce that I now have a new website, www.sewpumpkin.co.uk . The site is still a work in progress but I have done it all myself so quite proud with it. It will in the future link to my Etsy shop where you will be able to buy ready made items. Hopefully the site will be useful for you to see in one easy place the dresses and other items available and the pricing structure rather than skipping through lots of photos on Facebook.
And so onto the competition. Most of my dress patterns have names, the Ava, Harper etc but I am after a name for one of my best sellers the Ruffle Strap Dress, pictured above. So what I want you to do is suggest a name for it. Please email your name and the name you would call the dress to me at sewpumpkin@btinternet.com before the end of the day on 27th July to enter. One entry per person. I will along with my judging panel (my husband!) choose the name I think suits the dress best and the dress will then be named that. If more than one person suggests the winning name I will put names into a hat and draw a winner. You will win a ruffle strap dress in the fabric of your choice (choosing from any of my instock fabrics and in a size up to age 6). If you don't have any use for a little dress then you can have another product to the same value. I will also offer a gift voucher for £5 for 2 runner-up prizes.
According to Facebook rules I have to say that this competition is not in anyway associated or endorsed by them. It is also not a requisite for you to like or share the competition but if you do that I would be eternally grateful :) Winners will be announced here on the blog after the competition ends. So good luck and get naming.

Today I have been busy designing my new website. I just need to make a few more changes and upload some more photos and it will be finished. Up till now I have carried out all my selling through Facebook but hoping this will allow those of you who aren't on Facebook to see my dresses and make your orders. It also provides an easier way to see the styles of the dresses available and fabric choices. Having a blog attached to the website will also allow me to run competitions which I am looking forward to!
Here is a photo of one of the dresses I finished recently. A peasant dress in cherry and red polka dot fabric, gorgeous for the summer ............ if we ever get one!
